Use the Direct File API for large existing PDFs that need file-backed opening, page-count plus original-copy workflows, object-source inspection or replacement, document-info updates, and full rewritten output without loading every stream into the normal object graph.
The low-level Direct File helpers DATryBuildTraditionalFileState, DAParseXRefStreamSection, and DAReadCompressedObjectBody are available for stream-backed workflows that need to build THPDFDirectFileState, parse xref stream sections, or read an object body from an object stream before calling the higher-level DA* actions
