Description

Selects PDF/VT-3 authoring over a PDF/X-6 family base and writes the required identification metadata

Parameters

NewMode	1 selects PDF/VT-3 over PDF/X-6 complete exchange, 2 selects PDF/VT-3 over PDF/X-6p process-color partial exchange and 3 selects PDF/VT-3 over PDF/X-6n n-colorant partial exchange

Return value

1 when the mode was selected, or 0 for an invalid mode, a loaded document or a conflicting save configuration

Remarks

The mode selects PDF 2.0 and the corresponding PDF/X-6 base, then writes GTS_PDFVTVersion as PDF/VT-3, rev as 2020 and a GTS_PDFVTModDate synchronized with xmp:ModifyDate at save time

A complete document part hierarchy is mandatory before SaveToFile, SaveToString or SaveToStream; an incomplete hierarchy rejects the save with LastErrorCode 525

Use BeginDocumentPartHierarchy and the document part APIs to create a uniform leaf hierarchy whose page ranges cover every page exactly once and in page order

Modes 2 and 3 also require an external output-profile reference configured through SetOutputIntentProfileReference and one or more retrievable locations
