Measures the vertical advance of a Unicode text run in the current page measurement unit

Return value
Returns the sum of per-scalar vertical advances scaled by the current font size
Usage notes
- Supplementary Unicode scalars represented by surrogate pairs count as one glyph lookup
- The calculation uses registered vertical metrics when available and configured defaults otherwise
- Use the result to place a following run, annotation, or parallel column
