Parses the bounded format, validates the complete digest chain and every forward and inverse patch, then installs the history only when the active PDF matches the root or recorded fingerprint
When ApplyRecordedPosition is True, a matching root PDF is replayed to the saved position before the journal becomes active
Signed PDFs are rejected unless AllowSignedDocument is explicitly enabled because replay creates a new document revision outside the original signature coverage
Malformed, oversized, mismatched or unloadable replay data leaves the current document and existing journal unchanged
