TXLSXChartSeries class

Unit: lxHandleX
Chart series with formula ranges, cached values, data labels, trendline collection and X/Y error bars

Description

A series retains its display name, optional name formula, category or X formula, value or Y formula, bubble-size formula and the string or numeric cache stored beside each formula Cached points improve offline rendering and survive chart edits, worksheet copies and open-save cycles

Series markers and smoothing

property MarkerFillColor: LongWord;
property MarkerBorderColor: LongWord;
property Smooth: Boolean;
property SmoothSet: Boolean;
property LegendDeleted: Boolean;
MarkerFillColorFill color of the series marker for line/scatter charts as an RGB LongWord; 0 keeps Excel's automatic theme color
MarkerBorderColorBorder color of the series marker as an RGB LongWord
SmoothTrue renders the series as a smoothed curve instead of straight line segments; pair with MarkerSymbol/MarkerSize/MarkerSet
SmoothSetWhether the smoothing flag has been explicitly set, gating emission of the OOXML smooth flag
LegendDeletedTrue removes this series from the legend while keeping it plotted, emitting a c:legendEntry delete for its series index

Multi-level categories

property CategoriesMultiLevel: Boolean;
property CategoryLevelCount: Integer;
property CategoryLevels[Index: Integer]: TXLSXChartDataCache;
function AddCategoryLevel: TXLSXChartDataCache;
procedure ClearCategoryLevels;
procedure ResolveCategoryLevels;
function BuildCategorySpans(APointCount: Integer;
  out ASpans: TXLSXChartCategorySpans): Integer;
Category levels are ordered leaf first, matching ChartML physical cache order Each level is a sparse indexed string cache Missing points inherit the preceding label in that level, while an explicitly stored empty string starts an empty span and prevents merging across adjacent groups
ResolveCategoryLevels materializes an accessible two-dimensional category range once and otherwise retains the imported cache BuildCategorySpans returns parent-aware spans in O(levels × points) time so equal child text is merged only within the same parent span

Cell-sourced data labels

property DataLabelsRange: WideString;
property DataLabelsCache: TXLSXChartDataCache;
property ShowDataLabelsRange: Boolean;
property ShowDataLabelsRangeSet: Boolean;
property SeparatorSet: Boolean;
property DataLabelRangeOverrideCount: Integer;
property DataLabelRangeOverrideIndexes[Index: Integer]: Integer;
property DataLabelRangeOverrideValues[Index: Integer]: Boolean;
procedure ResolveDataLabelsRange;
procedure SetPointShowDataLabelsRange(APointIndex: Integer;
  AVisible: Boolean);
procedure ClearPointShowDataLabelsRangeOverrides;
function TryGetPointShowDataLabelsRange(APointIndex: Integer;
  out AVisible: Boolean): Boolean;
DataLabelsRange is a per-series A1 formula and DataLabelsCache retains the indexed text stored with the chart Internal worksheet ranges refresh once per workbook generation, while inaccessible or external formulas keep their imported cache and never trigger implicit file or network access
ShowDataLabelsRangeSet preserves whether shared visibility was explicitly present, and the point methods maintain sparse zero-based visibility overrides Custom cell text is composed before the series name, category, value, percent and bubble-size components, with the separator inserted only between nonempty components
TXLSXChart.DataLabelsRange remains a compatibility facade Its setter broadcasts to existing series and seeds later series, while its getter returns a value only when every series uses the same formula

Cached points

Set a cache kind to xlsxChartCacheString or xlsxChartCacheNumber, optionally set FormatCode for numeric data, then add indexed points Numeric caches without an explicit format code use General when written
