สร้าง array DeviceN ห้าส่วนประกอบ โดย attributes dictionary มี /Subtype /NChannel และ dictionary /Process ที่สอดคล้องกัน
ต้องการ PDF 1.6 ขึ้นไป และปฏิเสธชื่อส่วนประกอบที่ว่าง ซ้ำ เป็น All หรือเป็น None
DeviceGray ต้องการหนึ่งส่วนประกอบ, DeviceRGB ต้องการสามส่วนประกอบที่เรียงลำดับแล้ว และชุด DeviceCMYK แบบบางส่วนใช้ชื่อสงวน Cyan, Magenta, Yellow และ Black
overload แบบขั้นสูงสร้างนิยาม Separation รายตัวใน /Colorants, ส่วนประกอบ /Process แบบตรงตัว และ /MixingHints ที่เลือกได้ซึ่งมี /Solidities, /PrintingOrder และ /DotGain
