Controls when a modified file-backed loaded stream spills to an owned temporary file instead of a memory stream

16777216 bytes, or 16 MiB

Behaviour

• Read-only access stays on the original source-file range and does not materialise the full stream
• The first write or resize materialises streams at or below the threshold in memory
• Larger streams use a private temporary file that is deleted with the stream object
• A zero threshold sends every non-empty modified loaded stream to disk
• Negative values raise ERangeError
