Behavior

Walks the classic Apple TrueType / GDI era kern table of the active Unicode font and returns the pair adjustment for two glyph IDs. The table is a chain of subtables; the classic horizontal format 0 stores nPairs of {left, right, value} entries sorted by the 32-bit (left shl 16) or right key, which is exactly what a binary search wants. The method returns 0 unless a format-0 horizontal subtable carries the pair
