Values
| Value | Purpose |

pmsValid | The MAC was located, decrypted, and authenticated, and its coverage checks passed |
pmsNotPresent | The PDF does not contain an active AuthCode |
pmsInvalidPassword | The document encryption password needed to derive the MAC key is wrong |
pmsMalformed | The AuthCode structure, trailer, ByteRange array, salts, or hexadecimal MAC value cannot be parsed |
pmsUnsupportedAlgorithm | The MAC digest algorithm or the location variant is not supported |
pmsCoverageInvalid | The ByteRange does not cover the required file extent |
pmsDocumentModified | The data digest no longer matches, so bytes inside the MAC coverage were changed |
pmsAuthenticationFailed | The authentication tag or key integrity check failed, meaning the MAC value or key material is wrong |
pmsPolicyRejected | The configured policy profile rejected the MAC parameters before any cryptographic work |
pmsSignatureBindingFailed | The digest that binds an attached MAC to its signature no longer matches |

pmsPolicyRejectedcan mask later findings until the profile is relaxed - For attached MACs, distinguishing
pmsDocumentModifiedfrompmsSignatureBindingFailedtells you whether the file bytes or the bound signature changed
