Headless signature appearance profiles
Pass a supported ProfileName to THPDFHeadlessDocument.SetSignatureFieldAppearance to select an actual producer-defined visual configuration
| Profile | Actual configuration |
|---|---|
| HotPDF.StandardApproval | 11 pt, centered blue text, 4 pt padding, a rectangle border, a white background, and a single text line |
| HotPDF.StandardCertification | 10 pt, left-aligned black text, 5 pt padding, a rectangle border, a white background, multiline wrapping, and 1.35 line spacing |
| HotPDF.Compact | 8 pt, right-aligned black text, 1 pt padding, no painted background or border, and a single text line |
The caption supplies the actual signature text, and TrueTypeFont supplies a permitted embedded font; the profile determines its visual layout rather than labeling arbitrary caller options
Widget geometry and rotation remain part of the document, while profile alignment takes precedence over an inherited field alignment hint
Caller MaxFontBytes, MaxObjectBytes, MaxGlyphs, and CancellationToken remain effective when selecting a profile
HPDFSelectHeadlessSignatureAppearanceProfile exposes the same built-in selection for applications that need to inspect the configured options before generation
Seed requirements and persistence
Required signature seed AppearanceFilter values match the profile actually applied in the current loaded document instance
Each generated normal appearance stream records HotPDFAppearanceProfile under the document string encryption policy, and signing authenticates that stream and its actual text, fonts, and layout
Loading a saved document retains the metadata but clears the application state; apply the selected profile again before signing when a required seed names it
Replacing a named appearance with an ordinary unnamed appearance clears the matching application state
Cancelled generation preserves the prior actual appearance and profile, and unknown names fail before generation
