Compares two opaque document handles and returns a JSON report for FFI callers

Mode selectors

Selectors 0 through 3 map to page count, page text, structural object comparison, and rendered image comparison; selector 5 maps to structural comparison and other values map to full comparison

Error handling

Zero handles return an empty JSON object; exceptions are returned in an error member
