Usage notes

Local character and range mappings take precedence over inherited characters and ranges, including parent character entries overridden by a child range

The child retains its own name and writing mode; a parser-created child without WMode remains horizontal

Both maps retain independent array ownership after font-decoder cloning; inherited entry admission and copying use the active bounds and polling callback
