Windows native headless complex text
The native appearance builder shapes Arabic, Hebrew, combining sequences and mixed bidirectional text on Windows through matching HarfBuzz and FriBidi DLLs
Set HOTPDF_HARFBUZZ_LIBRARY and HOTPDF_FRIBIDI_LIBRARY to trusted absolute library paths before the first complex shaping operation; the defaults are libharfbuzz-0.dll and libfribidi-0.dll
Provide DLLs and their transitive dependencies for the process architecture: Win32 applications require x86 binaries, whilst Win64 applications require x64 binaries
Place dependency DLLs in an application-controlled search directory before loading the shaping libraries; an absolute path to the primary DLL does not by itself supply every dependent library
Simple direct Unicode glyphs continue to use the embedded font without loading the shaping runtime; required complex shaping reports a failure if its runtime cannot load or lacks a required symbol
The API keeps logical Unicode in field values, ToUnicode clusters and ActualText whilst painting the actual contextual glyphs in visual order
CharacterSpacing and WordSpacing apply once per shaped cluster and participate in measured layout; caller cancellation and glyph, font and object budgets also apply
The native acceptance suite verifies real Delphi and FPC processes on both Windows architectures, with independent glyph, advance and MuPDF pixel checks against Linux outputs
See HPDFShapeHeadlessText and THPDFHeadlessTextAppearanceOptions for the shaping and appearance contracts
