THotPDF.GetFormFieldValue Method
Reads a loaded field's current value, resolving indirect objects and inherited /V entries via its parent fields

Parameters

FieldName | Qualified field name, including its parent components |
Return value
Returns the existing AnsiString representation of a scalar value; missing values and non-scalar values yield an empty string
Usage notes
- The nearest field entry takes precedence, including an explicitly empty local string
- If the target field does not exist, both overloads raise an exception
- The bulk value and name/value-pair helpers work from the same effective values
- String bytes and hexadecimal string notation keep the existing raw-value behaviour
- This scalar getter does not serialise multi-selection arrays or signature dictionaries
