Usage notes

• Set the property before loading untrusted input so object streams decoded during load consume the intended ceiling
• The total includes every accepted intermediate and final filter-stage byte, not only bytes returned to the caller
• Zero disables the document-wide ceiling for trusted input whilst the independent DecodeBudgetBytes chain limit remains active
• Negative values raise ERangeError
