THPDFPDFMACStatus Type
Reports the outcome of validating an AuthCode PDF MAC against the document contents
Declaration
THPDFPDFMACStatus= (pmsValid, pmsNotPresent, pmsInvalidPassword,
pmsMalformed, pmsUnsupportedAlgorithm, pmsCoverageInvalid,
pmsDocumentModified, pmsAuthenticationFailed, pmsPolicyRejected,
pmsSignatureBindingFailed);
Unit
HPDFDoc
Values
| Value | Purpose |
|---|---|
pmsValid | The MAC was located, decrypted and authenticated, and its coverage checks passed |
pmsNotPresent | The PDF carries no active AuthCode |
pmsInvalidPassword | The document encryption password needed to derive the MAC key is incorrect |
pmsMalformed | The AuthCode structure, trailer, ByteRange array, salts or hexadecimal MAC value cannot be parsed |
pmsUnsupportedAlgorithm | The MAC digest algorithm or the location variant is unsupported |
pmsCoverageInvalid | The ByteRange fails to cover the required file extent |
pmsDocumentModified | The data digest no longer matches, so bytes inside the MAC coverage have been changed |
pmsAuthenticationFailed | The authentication tag or key integrity check failed, meaning the MAC value or the key material is wrong |
pmsPolicyRejected | The configured policy profile rejected the MAC parameters before any cryptographic work was done |
pmsSignatureBindingFailed | The digest tying an attached MAC to its signature no longer matches |
Usage notes
pmsValidis the sole success value; every other value arrives with a diagnostic string in theMessagefield ofTHPDFPDFMACValidationInfo- The policy profile check runs ahead of parsing and cryptographic work, so
pmsPolicyRejectedcan mask later findings until the profile is relaxed - For attached MACs, telling
pmsDocumentModifiedapart frompmsSignatureBindingFailedshows whether the file bytes or the bound signature changed
