Returns the raw canonical combining class from the configured native HarfBuzz Unicode provider, in the range zero up to 255

The Unicode data version follows the loaded HarfBuzz runtime; this function does not substitute a placement-specific recoding for Hebrew, Arabic or other script classes

Supplementary Unicode scalars are accepted, whilst surrogate values and values above U+10FFFF raise an exception

The optional token is polled before dependency initialisation and after the native query; cancellation raises the existing EHPDFOperationCancelled

A combining class is not the same as a line-break class: double combining marks can carry a nonzero combining class whilst their line-break class prohibits a break

Cross-style mark positioning uses these classes with actual glyph bounds when no matching attachment anchors are available
