Usage notes

Depth below zero, depth at or above 32, or depth above an active positive limit raises an exception

Without an entered scope the maximum admitted depth is 31; the renderer enters the stricter render-access and rendering-option depth limit

The active work callback may raise cancellation or an operation-budget exception before depth validation; caller finally blocks restore both the depth and entry-bound scopes
