SetSignProcessPrivateKeyUI

Security and signatures

Description

Controls whether a certificate-bound CNG private-key provider may display PIN, consent, token, or cloud-approval user interfaces during signing

This setting applies to identities selected through a PFX file, Windows certificate store, or certificate context; explicit CNG key APIs carry their own AllowUI parameter

Syntax

Delphi

Function TPDFlib.SetSignProcessPrivateKeyUI(SignProcessID: Integer; AllowUI: Boolean): Integer;

ActiveX

Function PDFlib::SetSignProcessPrivateKeyUI(SignProcessID As Long, AllowUI As Long) As Long

DLL

int DLSetSignProcessPrivateKeyUI(int InstanceID, int SignProcessID, int AllowUI);

Parameters

SignProcessIDValue returned by a NewSignProcessFrom* function
AllowUITrue or nonzero to allow provider interaction, false or zero to require silent signing

Return values

1The setting was stored
0The process id was invalid

Remarks

Silent mode remains the default so unattended services do not block on an unexpected provider window

Interactive mode routes RSA and ECDSA detached signatures through NCrypt and omits NCRYPT_SILENT_FLAG
